tavad dharmabhritam shreshtha jananyam api gauravam
यावत्पितरि धर्मज्ञ गौरवं लोकसत्कृते।
तावद्धर्मभृतां श्रेष्ठ जनन्यामपि गौरवम्॥
Knower of dharma, as much respect as is due to our father, whom the world honours, is due to your mother too.
What it means
Bharata wants to condemn his mother Kaikeyi for sending Rama away. Rama, the one most wronged, asks him to keep respecting her. Real nobility protects family bonds even after hurt.हिंदी में अर्थ
हे धर्मज्ञ, जितना आदर संसार-पूज्य पिता का है, उतना ही आदर तुम्हारी माता का भी है।
भरत अपनी माँ कैकेयी को राम के वनवास के लिए कोसना चाहते हैं। सबसे ज़्यादा चोट खाए राम ही उन्हें माँ का सम्मान करने को कहते हैं। चोट के बाद भी रिश्ते बचाना बड़प्पन है।
