lakshman-emam maya sardham prashadhi tvam vasundharam
dviteeyam mentaratmanam tvam iyam shreer upasthita
लक्ष्मणेमां मया सार्धं प्रशाधि त्वं वसुंधराम्।
द्वितीयं मेऽन्तरात्मानं त्वामियं श्रीरुपस्थिता॥
Lakshmana, rule this land together with me. You are my second self, and this good fortune has come to you as much as to me.

राजतिलक की खबर सुनते ही राम का पहला विचार भाई के साथ उसे बाँटने का था। सफलता तभी पूरी लगती है जब उसे अपनों के साथ बाँटा जाए।
