Valmiki Ramayana 2.19.19 meaning

kashchid daivena saumitre yoddhum utsahate puman yasya na grahanam kinchit karmanonyatra drishyate

Lakshmana, what person dares to fight against fate, whose hand cannot be seen anywhere except in what finally happens?

What it means
Rama calms an angry Lakshmana after losing the throne overnight. Some turns of life come from forces we cannot see or grab. Raging at them changes nothing; accepting them frees our energy for what we can still do.

Spoken by Rama.
