Valmiki Ramayana 2.18.31 meaning
tad etat tu maya karyam kriyate bhuvi nanyatha
pitur hi vachanam kurvan na kashchin nama heeyate
तदेतत्तु मया कार्यं क्रियते भुवि नान्यथा।
पितुर्हि वचनं कुर्वन्न कश्चिन्नाम हीयते॥
So I must do this, and no other way. No one who carries out his father's word is ever diminished.
What it means

राम मानते हैं कि परिवार के प्रति निष्ठा कभी छोटा नहीं बनाती, भले उसकी कीमत चुकानी पड़े। कर्तव्य निभाना हानि लगे, पर आत्म-सम्मान बढ़ाता है।
