Subhashitas Subhashita 507 meaning

maranam prakritih shareerinam vikritir jeevitam uchyate budhaih kshanam apy avatishthate shvasan yadi jantur nanu labhavan asau

The wise say that death is the natural state of embodied beings, and life is the exception. If a creature remains breathing even for a moment, it has surely gained something.

What it means
Sage Vasishtha consoles King Aja with this thought. Flip your view: every breath is a bonus, not a given. Seen this way, ordinary days turn into gifts, and losses, though painful, are part of nature.

Spoken by Kālidāsa.
