निर्धन सौ चाहता है, सौ वाला हज़ार, हज़ार वाला लाख, लखपति राज्य, राजा चक्रवर्ती बनना, चक्रवर्ती इंद्र बनना, इंद्र ब्रह्मा का पद, ब्रह्मा शिव का और शिव विष्णु का पद चाहते हैं। इच्छा की सीमा तक कौन पहुँचा है?
इच्छा की कोई अंतिम रेखा नहीं; हर लक्ष्य के बाद नया लक्ष्य दिखता है। इसलिए संतोष का इंतज़ार नहीं, चुनाव करना पड़ता है। जो है उसका आनंद लीजिए, वरना 'थोड़ा और' का पीछा कभी नहीं रुकेगा।
