lobh-avishto naro vittam veekshate na sa ch-apadam
dugdham pashyati marjaro na tatha lagud-ahatim
लोभाविष्टो नरो वित्तं वीक्षते न स चापदम् ।
दुग्धं पश्यति मार्जारो न तथा लगुडाहतिम् ॥
A greedy person sees the money but not the danger, just as a cat sees the milk but not the stick about to strike it.
