kalena ksheeyate loham trishna tu parivardhate
आशा हि लोहरज्जुभ्यो विषमा विपुला दृढा ।
कालेन क्षीयते लोहं तृष्णा तु परिवर्धते ॥
Craving is harsher, larger and stronger than chains of iron. With time, iron wears away, but craving only keeps growing.
