आपदः क्षणमायान्ति क्षणमायान्ति सम्पदः ।
क्षणं जन्म क्षणं मृत्युर्मुने किमिव न क्षणम् ॥
O sage, misfortunes arrive in a moment, and good fortune arrives in a moment. Birth is a moment and death is a moment; what is there that is not momentary?

हे मुनि, विपत्तियाँ क्षण भर में आ जाती हैं और संपत्तियाँ भी क्षण भर में। जन्म भी क्षण भर का है और मृत्यु भी; ऐसा क्या है जो क्षणिक नहीं?
बुरे दिन भी बीतते हैं और अच्छे भी। यह समझ कठिन समय में निराशा और अच्छे समय में घमंड से बचाती है। हर पल को पूरी तरह जीइए, पर हल्के हाथ से थामिए।
