Rigveda 10.129.2 meaning
na mrityur aseed amritam na tarhi na ratrya ahna aseet praketah
aneed avatam svadhaya tad ekam tasmad dh-anyan na parah kim chan-asa
There was no death then, and no immortality; no sign to tell night from day. That One breathed, without any wind, by its own power. Apart from it there was nothing at all.
What it means
Before all opposites—life and death, day and night—there was only One, alive by itself. Beneath life's constant ups and downs, there is a stillness that depends on nothing.
Spoken by Prajapati Parameshthin.
