Ramcharitmanas 5.41.4 meaning
uma sant kai ihai badaee mand karat jo karai bhalaee
tumha pitu saris bhalehin mohi mara ramu bhajen hit nath tumhara
Uma, this is the greatness of a saint: he does good even to the one who does him harm. Vibhishana said to Ravana, 'You are like a father to me — you did well to strike me. But Lord, your good lies in worshipping Rama.'
What it means
Kicked by Ravana, Vibhishana still wishes him well. Returning kindness for harm is rare and powerful. You don't have to accept mistreatment, but you can refuse to let it make you bitter. How it helps in real life
- At work: A former boss who mistreated you asks for help with a contact. You can set limits, but reply politely and without bitterness.
- With family: Your elder brother shouted at you in front of relatives. Step away for now, but later tell him calmly you still want the best for him.
Spoken by Shiva.
