A drop of water on red-hot iron vanishes without a trace. The same drop on a lotus leaf shines like a pearl. Falling into an ocean oyster under the Swati star, it becomes a real pearl. Mostly, low, middling or high qualities come from the company we keep.

What it means
The same person can wither, shine or truly flourish depending on where they land. Your environment matters enormously. Seek places and people that bring out your best.

Spoken by Bhartrihari.
