The wicked call the modest dull, the devout a show-off, the pure a cheat, the brave heartless, the sage foolish, the sweet-spoken a flatterer, the spirited arrogant, the eloquent a chatterbox, and the steady weak. What virtue of good people is not twisted by them?

What it means
Critics can find a flaw in every strength. If someone twists your good qualities into faults, that says more about them than about you. Keep being who you are.

Spoken by Bhartrihari.
