danam bhogo nashas tisro gatayo bhavanti vittasya
yo na dadati na bhunkte tasya triteeya gatir bhavati
दानं भोगो नाशस्तिस्रो गतयो भवन्ति वित्तस्य ।
यो न ददाति न भुङ्क्ते तस्य तृतीया गतिर्भवति ॥
Wealth can go three ways: it is given away, enjoyed, or lost. The one who neither gives nor enjoys meets the third fate.
What it means

धन की तीन ही गतियाँ हैं — दान, भोग और नाश। जो न दान करता है, न उपभोग, उसका धन तीसरी गति यानी नाश को पाता है।
जो धन पड़ा रहता है, वह किसी के काम नहीं आता और आख़िर चला जाता है। उसका सही उपयोग कीजिए — खुद भी आनंद लीजिए और बाँटिए भी। डर से जमा करना उसे बचाता नहीं।
