boddharo matsaragrastah prabhavah smayadooshitah
abodhopahatash chanye jeernam ange subhashitam
बोद्धारो मत्सरग्रस्ताः प्रभवः स्मयदूषिताः ।
अबोधोपहताश्चान्ये जीर्णमङ्गे सुभाषितम् ॥
Those who could understand are eaten up by jealousy, the powerful are spoiled by pride, and the rest are lost in ignorance. So good words simply grow old inside me, unspoken.

Good advice needs an open listener. Jealousy, ego and closed minds all block wisdom. Before complaining that nobody hears you, ask whether you yourself listen without envy or pride.हिंदी में अर्थ
जो समझ सकते हैं वे ईर्ष्या से भरे हैं, जो समर्थ हैं वे घमंड से बिगड़े हैं, और बाकी अज्ञान में डूबे हैं। इसलिए अच्छी बातें मेरे भीतर ही पुरानी हो जाती हैं।
अच्छी सलाह के लिए खुला मन चाहिए। ईर्ष्या, अहंकार और अज्ञान ज्ञान का रास्ता रोकते हैं। दूसरों से पहले खुद देखें कि क्या हम बिना घमंड के सुनते हैं।
