Like someone who cooks sesame seeds in a pot of precious gems using sandalwood as fuel, or ploughs the earth with golden ploughs to grow weeds, or fences a field of cheap millet with camphor, so is the unlucky person who, born into this world of action, does nothing good.

What it means
Your life is a precious resource. Spending it only on trivial things is like using gold to grow weeds. Use your time, health and talent for something truly worthwhile.

Spoken by Bhartrihari.
