Meera Bai Pad 14 meaning

panee men meen pyasee, mohe sun sun avat hansee atam jnan bin nar bhatakat hai, kahan mathura kashee

A fish in water is thirsty! Hearing this, I can't help laughing. Without knowing the Self within, people wander about; what will Mathura or Kashi do?

What it means
We often search far away for what's already within us. Pilgrimages and journeys have value, but peace begins inside. Look within before running around the world.

How it helps in real life

Spoken by Meera.
