Mahabharata 5.89.25 meaning
sampreetibhojyany-annani apadbhojyani va punah
na cha sampreeyase rajan na chapy-apadgata vayam
संप्रीतिभोज्यान्यन्नानि आपद्भोज्यानि वा पुनः।
न च संप्रीयसे राजन्न चाप्यापद्गता वयम्॥
Food is eaten either out of affection or out of need. You show me no affection, O king, and I am in no need.
What it means
Krishna declines a feast offered without real warmth. A meal has meaning only when given with love or taken in need. Hospitality without sincerity is just a transaction.हिंदी में अर्थ
भोजन या तो प्रेम से खाया जाता है या संकट में। हे राजन, न तुम प्रेम दिखाते हो, न मैं संकट में हूँ।
कृष्ण बिना प्रेम के दिया भोज ठुकरा देते हैं। भोजन का अर्थ तभी है जब प्रेम से दिया जाए या ज़रूरत में लिया जाए। दिखावे की मेहमाननवाज़ी सौदा है।
