Mahabharata 5.70.63 meaning
na chapi vairam vairena keshava vyupashamyati
havishagnir yatha krishna bhooya evabhivardhate
न चापि वैरं वैरेण केशव व्युपशाम्यति।
हविषाग्निर्यथा कृष्ण भूय एवाभिवर्धते॥
Enmity is never ended by enmity, Keshava. Like fire fed with ghee, Krishna, it only grows stronger.

हे केशव, बैर से बैर कभी शांत नहीं होता। हे कृष्ण, घी डालने पर आग की तरह वह और भी बढ़ता है।
बदला लगता है हिसाब बराबर कर देगा, पर वह अगली लड़ाई को हवा देता है। इस चक्र को तोड़ने के लिए किसी को नफ़रत का जवाब नफ़रत से देना बंद करना होगा।
