Mahabharata 5.33.17 meaning

krodho harshash cha darpash cha hreestambho manyamanita yam arthan napakarshanti sa vai pandita uchyate

Anger, excitement, pride, shame, stubbornness and self-importance — the person who is not pulled away from life's real goals by any of these is called wise.

What it means
Strong feelings will come — anger, pride, embarrassment. Wisdom is not about never feeling them. It is about not letting them steer your choices away from what truly matters to you.
