Thousands of mothers and fathers, hundreds of sons and wives have been known in past lives. They are gone, and others will go too.

What it means
This opens the 'Bharata Savitri', the four closing verses. Seen across many lifetimes, every relationship is a passing meeting. It invites us to love deeply but hold loosely.

Spoken by Vyasa.
