Mahabharata 12.27.29 meaning

sarve kshayanta nichayah patanantah samuchchrayah sanyoga viprayoganta maranantam hi jeevitam

Every heap of savings ends in being spent, every rise ends in a fall, every union ends in separation, and every life ends in death.

What it means
Nothing built in this world is permanent, not money, status, relationships or life itself. This is not meant to depress you but to free you: hold things lightly, and invest in what still matters when they pass.

Spoken by Vyasa.
