Mahabharata 1.74.6 meaning
yo yajed aparishranto masi masi shatam samah
na krudhyed yash cha sarvasya tayor akrodhanodhikah
यो यजेदपरिश्रान्तो मासि मासि शतं समाः।
न क्रुध्येद्यश्च सर्वस्य तयोरक्रोधनोऽधिकः॥
Of one who performs sacrifices tirelessly every month for a hundred years and one who is never angry with anyone, the one free of anger is greater.

Rituals and outward good deeds matter less than a calm temper. Someone who never lashes out at others may be living a more sacred life than the most religious person.हिंदी में अर्थ
एक व्यक्ति सौ वर्षों तक हर महीने बिना थके यज्ञ करे, और दूसरा किसी पर कभी क्रोध न करे, तो क्रोध न करने वाला ही बड़ा है।
पूजा-पाठ और बाहरी अच्छे काम उतने बड़े नहीं जितना शांत स्वभाव। जो दूसरों पर कभी नहीं बरसता, वह सबसे धार्मिक से भी ऊँचा हो सकता है।
