Katha Upanishad 2.2.8 meaning

ya esha supteshu jagarti kamam kamam purusho nirmimanah tad eva shukram tad brahma tad ev-amritam uchyate tasminl lokah shritah sarve tad u n-atyeti kashchana etad vai tat

The Person who stays awake while we sleep, shaping dream after dream: that is the pure light, that is Brahman, that is called the deathless. All worlds rest in it, and no one goes beyond it. This, truly, is That.

What it means
Even in sleep, some awareness keeps watch and creates our dreams. That ever-awake presence is the deepest part of us, never tired and never absent, day or night.

Spoken by Yama.
