Katha Upanishad 2.2.11 meaning

sooryo yatha sarvalokasya chakshur na lipyate chakshushair bahyadoshaih ekas tatha sarvabhoot-antaratma na lipyate lokaduhkhena bahyah

Just as the sun, the eye of the whole world, is not stained by the faults of what eyes see, so the one Self within all beings is not stained by the world's sorrow, for it stands beyond.

What it means
Sunlight falls on dirt without becoming dirty. Your deepest self can witness pain and mess without being spoiled by it. You are more than what happens to you.

Spoken by Yama.
