As pure water poured into pure water becomes one and the same, so, Nachiketa, does the Self of a sage who truly knows become one with the highest.
What it means
Water poured into water simply merges. With clarity and purity, the separation between ourselves and the whole quietly dissolves. It is a homecoming, not a loss.
