Katha Upanishad 1.2.13 meaning

etach chrutva samparigrihya martyah pravrihya dharmyam anum etam apya sa modate modaneeyam hi labdhva vivritam sadma nachiketasam manye

A mortal who hears this, fully takes it in, separates the true Self from the body and reaches this subtle essence, rejoices, for he has found the source of joy. I think the door is wide open for you, Nachiketa.

What it means
Hearing is only the start; taking a truth fully into your life is what changes you. Joy that comes from within does not depend on circumstances.

Spoken by Yama.
