Katha Upanishad 1.2.1 meaning
anyach chreyonyad ut-aiva preyas te ubhe nan-arthe purusham sineetah
tayoh shreya adadanasya sadhu bhavati heeyaterthad ya u preyo vrineete
अन्यच्छ्रेयोऽन्यदुतैव प्रेयस्ते उभे नानार्थे पुरुषं सिनीतः।
तयोः श्रेय आददानस्य साधु भवति हीयतेऽर्थाद्य उ प्रेयो वृणीते॥
The good is one thing and the pleasant is another. Both pull a person toward different ends. Whoever takes the good does well; whoever picks the merely pleasant misses life's real aim.

श्रेय यानी भला एक चीज़ है और प्रेय यानी सुखद दूसरी। दोनों मनुष्य को अलग-अलग दिशाओं में खींचते हैं। जो भला चुनता है उसका कल्याण होता है, जो केवल सुखद चुनता है वह असली लक्ष्य से चूक जाता है।
हर दिन हम चुनते हैं कि अभी अच्छा क्या लगता है और सच में हमारे लिए अच्छा क्या है। दोनों अक्सर अलग राह दिखाते हैं। विकास तब शुरू होता है जब हम भले को चुनते हैं।
