Katha Upanishad 1.1.10 meaning
shantasankalpah sumana yatha syad veetamanyur gautamo m-abhi mrityo
tvatprasrishtam m-abhivadet prateeta etat trayanam prathamam varam vrine
शान्तसंकल्पः सुमना यथा स्याद्वीतमन्युर्गौतमो माभि मृत्यो।
त्वत्प्रसृष्टं माभिवदेत्प्रतीत एतत्त्रयाणां प्रथमं वरं वृणे॥
O Death, may my father be calm, cheerful, and free of anger toward me. When you send me back, may he recognise me and greet me warmly. This is the first of my three wishes.
What it means
Given any wish, the boy first asks for peace with the father who sent him away. Healing a broken family bond can matter more than any personal gain.हिंदी में अर्थ
हे मृत्यु, मेरे पिता शांत और प्रसन्न रहें, मुझ पर उनका क्रोध मिट जाए। जब आप मुझे लौटाएँ, तो वे मुझे पहचानकर प्रेम से बोलें। यही तीन में मेरा पहला वर है।
कोई भी वर मिल सकता था, पर बालक ने पहले उसी पिता से मेल माँगा जिसने उसे भेज दिया था। टूटे रिश्ते जोड़ना किसी भी निजी लाभ से बढ़कर है।
