adhahkritasy-api tanoonapato n-adhah shikha yati kadachid eva
कदर्थितस्यापि च धैर्यवृत्तेर्बुद्धेर्विनाशो न हि शङ्कनीयः।
अधःकृतस्यापि तनूनपातो नाधः शिखा याति कदाचिदेव॥
Even when a steady person is mistreated, do not expect their good sense to be destroyed. Even if you hold a flame upside down, its tip never points downward.
