यज्जीव्यते क्षणमपि प्रथितं मनुष्यैर्विज्ञानविक्रमयशोभिरभज्यमानम्।
तन्नाम जीवितमिह प्रवदन्ति तज्ज्ञाः काकोऽपि जीवति चिराय बलिं च भुङ्क्ते॥
Even a single moment lived with knowledge, courage and honour that stay unbroken is what the wise call truly living. After all, a crow also lives a long time, eating scraps of offerings.
