When one creature eats another's flesh, look at the difference between them: one gets a moment's pleasure, while the other loses its entire life.
What it means
Before taking a small pleasure that costs someone else dearly, weigh both sides. Compassion begins with noticing how unequal the trade is between our convenience and another's suffering.
