Kartik Purnima · Dev Deepawali 2026 in Indore

Kartik Purnima, the full moon of Kartik, is one of the holiest days of the year for bathing, giving and lighting lamps. In Varanasi it is Dev Deepawali, the Diwali of the gods, when the ghats glow with lakhs of diyas; the same day is also Guru Nanak Jayanti, and in Odisha people float little boats in Boita Bandana.

Shiva and the three flying cities
