Baisakhi · Mesha Sankranti 2027 in Vancouver

Baisakhi, usually on 13 or 14 April, is the spring harvest festival of Punjab and the North, and the day the sun enters Aries (Mesha Sankranti), the solar new year for much of India. The same day is Vishu in Kerala, Puthandu in Tamil Nadu, Bohag Bihu in Assam, Pana Sankranti in Odisha and Pohela Boishakh in Bengal; for Sikhs it marks the founding of the Khalsa in 1699.

The golden harvest and the gathering at Anandpur
