Chanakya Niti 8.14 meaning
krodho vaivasvato raja trishna vaitaranee nadee
vidya kamadudha dhenuh santosho nandanam vanam
क्रोधो वैवस्वतो राजा तृष्णा वैतरणी नदी ।
विद्या कामदुधा धेनुः सन्तोषो नन्दनं वनम् ॥
Anger is like Yama, the king of death; craving is like Vaitarani, the river of hell; knowledge is like the wish-fulfilling cow; and contentment is like Nandana, the garden of heaven.
What it means
Your inner states create your own hell or heaven. Anger destroys, greed drowns, knowledge provides, and contentment brings joy. Choose what you nurture inside, because that is the world you will live in.हिंदी में अर्थ
क्रोध यमराज के समान है, तृष्णा वैतरणी नदी के समान, विद्या कामधेनु के समान और संतोष नंदन वन के समान है।
भीतर की भावनाएँ ही नरक या स्वर्ग बनाती हैं। क्रोध नष्ट करता है, लालच डुबोता है, ज्ञान देता है और संतोष आनंद लाता है। सोचो, भीतर क्या पाल रहे हो।
