Chanakya Niti 5.22 meaning
janita ch-opaneta cha yas tu vidyam prayachchati
annadata bhayatrata pancha-ite pitarah smritah
जनिता चोपनेता च यस्तु विद्यां प्रयच्छति ।
अन्नदाता भयत्राता पञ्चैते पितरः स्मृताः ॥
The one who gives you birth, the one who performs your sacred thread ceremony, the one who teaches you, the one who feeds you, and the one who saves you from danger — these five are called fathers.
What it means
Parenthood is wider than biology. Teachers, mentors, providers and protectors also shape and save us. Honour everyone who has guided, fed or protected you; they too are family.हिंदी में अर्थ
जन्म देने वाला, उपनयन संस्कार कराने वाला, विद्या देने वाला, अन्न देने वाला और भय से बचाने वाला—ये पाँचों पिता माने गए हैं।
पिता का अर्थ केवल जन्म देने वाला नहीं। शिक्षक, मार्गदर्शक, पालनहार और रक्षक भी हमें गढ़ते और बचाते हैं। ऐसे सभी लोगों का सम्मान करो, वे भी परिवार हैं।
