Chanakya Niti 17.7 meaning
nannodakasamam danam na tithir dvadashee sama
na gayatryah paro mantro na matur daivatam param
नान्नोदकसमं दानं न तिथिर्द्वादशी समा।
न गायत्र्याः परो मन्त्रो न मातुर्दैवतं परम्॥
No gift equals giving food and water, no day is as holy as Dvadashi, no mantra is higher than the Gayatri, and no deity is greater than one's mother.

Feeding the hungry and honouring your mother are the most sacred acts available to anyone, anytime. You don't need special occasions to do the highest good; it's right there at your table and in your home.हिंदी में अर्थ
अन्न और जल के दान जैसा कोई दान नहीं, द्वादशी जैसी कोई तिथि नहीं, गायत्री से बड़ा कोई मंत्र नहीं, और माँ से बड़ा कोई देवता नहीं।
भूखे को खिलाना और माँ का सम्मान करना सबसे पवित्र काम हैं, जो कोई भी कभी भी कर सकता है। सबसे बड़ी भलाई के लिए खास मौके की ज़रूरत नहीं, वह घर और थाली में ही है।
