Chanakya Niti 1.2 meaning
adheety-edam yathashastram naro janati sattamah
dharmopadesha-vikhyatam karyakaryam shubhashubham
अधीत्येदं यथाशास्त्रं नरो जानाति सत्तमः ।
धर्मोपदेशविख्यातं कार्याकार्यं शुभाशुभम् ॥
A wise person who studies this properly, as the scriptures teach, comes to understand what should and should not be done, and what is good and what is harmful, as dharma teaches.
