Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 4.3.6 meaning

astamita aditye yajnavalkya chandramasy astamite shantegnau shantayam vachi kinjyotir ev-ayam purusha iti atm-aiv-asya jyotir bhavat-eeti

King Janaka asks: "Yajnavalkya, when the sun has set, the moon has set, the fire has gone out and speech is silent, what light does a person have?" Yajnavalkya answers: "The Self is his light."

What it means
When every outside support goes dark — people, plans, comforts — there is still a light inside that lets you see and act. In your hardest nights, that inner light has not gone anywhere.

Spoken by Yajnavalkya.
