sa yatha saindhavakhilya udake prasta udakam ev-anuvileeyeta na h-asy-odgrahanay-eva syad yato yatas tv adadeeta lavanam eva

When a lump of salt is dropped into water, it dissolves into the water and cannot be picked out again; yet wherever you take a sip, it tastes of salt.

What it means
Yajnavalkya uses this image for pure awareness: it cannot be grabbed as an object, yet it is present everywhere. Things you cannot point to, like love or consciousness, can still flavour all of life.

Spoken by Yajnavalkya.
