Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 1.5.3 meaning
kamah sankalpo vichikitsa shraddhashraddha dhritir adhritih
hreer dheer bheer ity-etat sarvam mana eva
कामः सङ्कल्पो विचिकित्सा श्रद्धाऽश्रद्धा धृतिरधृतिः ।
ह्रीर्धीर्भीरित्येतत्सर्वं मन एव ॥
Desire, intention, doubt, faith and lack of faith, steadiness and unsteadiness, shame, understanding and fear — all of this is simply the mind.
What it means
Doubt, fear and shame feel like solid facts, but they are passing movements of the mind. Seeing them as weather rather than as who you are makes them much easier to handle.हिंदी में अर्थ
इच्छा, संकल्प, संदेह, श्रद्धा और अश्रद्धा, धैर्य और अधैर्य, लज्जा, बुद्धि और भय — यह सब मन ही है।
संदेह, डर और शर्म ठोस सच जैसे लगते हैं, पर ये मन की आती-जाती लहरें हैं। इन्हें अपना स्वरूप नहीं, मौसम की तरह देखें, तो सँभालना आसान होता है।
