Bhakti Saints Savaiya 12 meaning
manus haun to vahee rasakhan, basaun mili gokul ganv ke gvaran
jo pasu haun to kaha bas mero, charaun nit nand kee dhenu manjharan
If I'm born a human, Raskhan says, let me live among the cowherds of Gokul. If I'm born an animal, though it's not in my hands, let me graze every day among Nanda's cows.
What it means
Raskhan, born a Pathan, fell so in love with Krishna's Braj that he wanted to be near it in any form. Love that deep doesn't care about status; it just wants to belong. How it helps in real life
- When you feel alone: Living in Chicago, you miss the sounds of home. Find the nearest mandir community and volunteer at their next festival, in any role.
- Helping others: You want to help at the cow shelter but think only big donors matter. Go anyway and help with feeding; any role there counts.
