Bhaja Govindam 26 meaning

kamam krodham lobham moham tyaktvatmanam bhavaya koham atmajnanaviheena moodhas te pachyante narakanigoodhah

Let go of lust, anger, greed and delusion, and reflect within: who am I? Those who lack knowledge of the Self are foolish; they suffer, trapped in a hell of their own.

What it means
Lust, anger, greed and confusion create much of our suffering. Pausing to ask 'who am I, really?' loosens their grip. Without that inner work, we end up living in a hell we built ourselves.

Spoken by Adi Shankaracharya.
