Srimad Bhagavatam 8.2.32 meaning
na mam ime jnataya aturam gajah kutah karinyah prabhavanti mochitum
grahena pashena vidhatur avritopy aham cha tam yami param parayanam
न मामिमे ज्ञातय आतुरं गजाः कुतः करिण्यः प्रभवन्ति मोचितुम्।
ग्राहेण पाशेन विधातुरावृतोऽप्यहं च तं यामि परं परायणम्॥
My fellow elephants cannot free me from this distress, let alone the females. Caught in the crocodile's grip, which is the noose of fate, I now go to that Supreme Being, the final refuge of all.

मेरे साथी हाथी भी मुझे इस संकट से नहीं छुड़ा सकते, फिर हथिनियों की तो बात ही क्या। विधाता के फंदे जैसे इस मगरमच्छ ने मुझे जकड़ लिया है, अब मैं उसी परमेश्वर की शरण जाता हूँ जो सबका अंतिम सहारा है।
जब सबसे अपने लोग भी मदद नहीं कर पाते, तब पता चलता है कि असल सहारा कौन है। गजेंद्र की लाचारी ही उसका मोड़ बनती है। समर्पण अक्सर वहीं से शुरू होता है जहाँ अपनी ताकत खत्म हो।
