atma nityovyayah shuddha ekah kshetrajna ashrayah
avikriyah svadrig hetur vyapakosangy anavritah
आत्मा नित्योऽव्ययः शुद्ध एकः क्षेत्रज्ञ आश्रयः।
अविक्रियः स्वदृग्हेतुर्व्यापकोऽसङ्ग्यनावृतः॥
The self is eternal, unchanging and pure. It is one, the knower of the body and its support. It does not change, shines by its own light, is the cause, all-pervading, unattached and uncovered.
