Srimad Bhagavatam 6.1.16 meaning
na tatha hy-aghavan rajan pooyeta tapa adibhih
yatha krishnarpitapranas tatpurushanishevaya
न तथा ह्यघवान्राजन्पूयेत तपआदिभिः।
यथा कृष्णार्पितप्राणस्तत्पुरुषनिषेवया॥
O king, a person who has done wrong is not purified by austerities and the like as fully as by giving one's life to Krishna and serving those devoted to him.
What it means
Punishing yourself rarely changes you as deeply as turning toward love and serving good people. Change of heart comes more easily through devotion than through guilt.हिंदी में अर्थ
हे राजन, गलती करने वाला व्यक्ति तप आदि से उतना शुद्ध नहीं होता, जितना कृष्ण को अपना जीवन समर्पित करने और उनके भक्तों की सेवा करने से होता है।
खुद को सज़ा देना आपको उतना गहराई से नहीं बदलता, जितना प्रेम की ओर मुड़ना और अच्छे लोगों की सेवा करना। दिल का बदलाव अपराधबोध से कम, भक्ति से ज़्यादा आसानी से आता है।
