Srimad Bhagavatam 3.29.8 meaning
abhisandhaya yo hinsam dambham matsaryam eva va
sanrambhee bhinnadrig bhavam mayi kuryat sa tamasah
अभिसंधाय यो हिंसां दम्भं मात्सर्यमेव वा।
संरम्भी भिन्नदृग्भावं मयि कुर्यात्स तामसः॥
One who worships me while intending violence, out of pride or jealousy, full of anger and seeing others as separate, has a devotion of the dark, tamasic kind.
What it means
Religion used as a weapon for anger or pride is devotion at its lowest. If your faith makes you harsher toward others, something has gone wrong in how you hold it.हिंदी में अर्थ
जो हिंसा, दंभ या ईर्ष्या के इरादे से, क्रोध में भरा और भेद-दृष्टि रखते हुए मेरी भक्ति करता है, उसकी भक्ति तामसिक है।
क्रोध या घमंड के हथियार के रूप में धर्म सबसे निचले स्तर की भक्ति है। अगर आस्था आपको दूसरों के प्रति कठोर बनाती है, तो कहीं कुछ ग़लत है।
