Srimad Bhagavatam 3.29.10 meaning
karmanirharam uddishya parasmin va tadarpanam
yajed yashtavyam iti va prithagbhavah sa sattvikah
कर्मनिर्हारमुद्दिश्य परस्मिन्वा तदर्पणम्।
यजेद्यष्टव्यमिति वा पृथग्भावः स सात्त्विकः॥
One who worships to wipe away past karma, or offers actions to the Supreme, or worships simply because it ought to be done, still seeing me as separate, has a devotion of the pure, sattvic kind.
What it means
Worshipping out of duty or a wish to become better is noble. Yet Kapila hints there is still a step beyond, where love itself is the only reason.हिंदी में अर्थ
जो पाप-कर्मों को मिटाने के लिए, या कर्म भगवान को अर्पित करने के लिए, या केवल कर्तव्य मानकर पूजा करता है और भेद-भाव रखता है, उसकी भक्ति सात्त्विक है।
कर्तव्य या बेहतर बनने की इच्छा से पूजा करना श्रेष्ठ है। फिर भी कपिल संकेत देते हैं कि इसके आगे एक और कदम है, जहाँ प्रेम ही एकमात्र कारण होता है।
