Srimad Bhagavatam 11.8.6 meaning
samriddhakamo heeno va narayanaparo munih
n-otsarpeta na shushyeta saridbhir iva sagarah
A sage devoted to Narayana neither swells up when he gains what he wants nor dries up when he loses it, just as the ocean neither overflows nor shrinks with the rivers flowing in.
What it means
Gains and losses keep flowing in like rivers. A deep mind, like the ocean, absorbs them without losing its level. Build inner depth, and outer ups and downs won't shake you.
Spoken by Avadhuta.
