Srimad Bhagavatam 11.8.42 meaning

atm-aiva hy-atmano gopta nirvidyeta yad-akhilat apramatta idam pashyed grastam kalahina jagat

Truly, one is one's own protector. When one becomes disenchanted with everything, one should stay alert and see this whole world as being swallowed by the serpent of time.

What it means
Pingala realises that no one else can save her from her own restless longing. Seeing that everything passes gives the courage to take charge of your own inner life.

Spoken by Pingala.
